Entry Criteria
Have you truly excelled in the erection and installation of a structural timber solution?
This category is open to any individual, team or organisation working in any sector and on any size of building that has been involved in the day-to-day work of specialist installation, fixing, fitting and commissioning of timber.
This can range from erecting mass timber structural elements, SIPS, timber frame, roofing systems, doors/windows, cladding or flooring and decking elements.
The winner will have demonstrated their full understanding of the timber technology being used, the ways timber can function in different building types, the correct procedures and protocols required for its safe installation and have shown an outstanding level of overall expertise and customer service.
Entry Questions:
1. Outline the key technical installation aspects of the chosen timber products/system and how you made sure it was correctly used and overcame any common or specific site-based construction problems.
2. Describe the ways your organisation and erection/installer teams are kept fully trained and briefed in the use of the timber systems or products you work with, e.g. building safety, building regulations, technical updates, health and safety and digital tools.
3. How has your installer/erection team or methods used raised the bar above and beyond industry standards and basic behaviour and delivered a streamlined high-quality, low maintenance and defect-free finished project? Which specific industry competence schemes/standards has your installer/erection methods operated under?
4. Describe how you have created site-safe, sustainable working methods and reduced the need for construction site storage requirements, site-based risks, minimised damage and fire risk during construction, reduced waste, recycling and worked with circular economy principles.
5. Give FIVE key reasons why your work and approach are exceptional and should be considered as the best example this year, e.g. how have you benchmarked overall quality, building safety, precision, maintenance and best practice?
